Who We Are

Talmeed Life is a group of Christians

We define a Christian as any individual who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, and who has committed their lives to following him. We are not affiliated with any denomination or specific church, and anyone, Christian or curious, is welcome to fellowship with us. Our approach to lifestyle content and events is that everything we say and do must be based on the Bible, which we believe to be the Word of God.

What brings us together: Seeking more of Christ

Christianity is so much deeper and richer than what culture has made it to be, but we need support from our fellow believers to live the Talmeed Life that Jesus called us to when he left the Earth for good in Matthew 28.

The original hebrew for disciple is the word talmid (pronounced TAL-meed). A talmid would leave everything behind to follow his teacher, to become like him and do what he did. This was the audience’s understanding of the word that has been translated to “disciple” when Jesus said: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

What does it really mean to be a disciple? Rabbi Mordecai Griffin teaches on the cultural expectation of a disciple, and therefore a Christian.

Our Doctrine

We insist on the Bible as our singular source of Truth, believing that it is the Living Word of the One True God.

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” — 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” — Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)

Teachings and Understanding

We share Bible-based content from preachers and teachers, intending to be a resource, so that believers may increase their knowledge and understanding of the Scripture. We do this knowing that, as each individual grows in their walk, their doctrines become more refined and their convictions more personal.

As long as a belief or practice does not contradict the Bible, we hold space for discussion and understanding, knowing that we are all learning together and that our hearts genuinely seek to know the God of the Bible more. We have grace knowing that, in our human understanding, we will never achieve perfect knowledge of Him.

We will always stand against or correct false interpretations of Scripture.
